"HOWEVER, I CONSIDER MY LIFE WORTH NOTHING TO ME; MY ONLY AIM IS TO FINISH THE RACE AND COMPLETE THE TASK THE LORD JESUS HAS GIVEN ME —THE TASK OF TESTIFYING TO THE GOOD NEWS OF GOD'S GRACE."
Acts 20:24, NIV
About the Author
Rebecca K. Tan (a pseudonym) is the author of the books, But He Said He is a Christian (2020) and But Her Too (2024).
In her early twenties, God worked in Rebecca’s heart by putting in her, a desire to fully follow her faith. This new life as a devoted Christian inspired Rebecca to work on writing a book that would encourage other young Christians to love Jesus and his word wholeheartedly even when circumstances became difficult.

However, a couple years after this radical shift in Rebecca’s life, she unknowingly entered an abusive dating relationship that significantly impacted her.
Feeling stuck and abandoned by her friends, family, and God, Rebecca documented her personal thoughts in her journal as she endured the abuse from her partner.

After having come out of the abusive relationship, Rebecca has received much counselling and spent time in reflection over what has transpired. It wasn’t until the 2020 Covid-Quarantine began when Rebecca decided to put a due date to this long awaited project of writing a book.
She has since finished self-publishing her first book of having been in an abusive relationship with a man who claims to be a Christian and her second book compiling stories from other women who've lived similar experiences. She hopes that many would be encouraged at the hope given by God. She also hopes that the Church would gain insight into what an abusive dating relationship amongst Christians can look like so that they would know how to better care for those in such situations.

Rebecca K. Tan now exists to help Christian survivors of abusive dating relationships know that they are not alone.
Rebecca hopes to continue writing to share untold stories from the Church for the Churches good and for the glory of God.
